A mix between reggaeton and pop music was released in 2017 by singer from Puerto Rico Luis Fonsi with Daddy Yankee. It has become the most streamed track at that in just 6 months. In 2015 there were only two mostly Spanish-language songs on Billboard's Top 100 and in 2016 there were four. At the peak of Despacito's success in 2017, 19 songs mainly made in Spanish made it to into the Top 100. This number rose to 41 by 2020. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish version in 2017 shortly after which the most well-known artists began collaborating with reggaeton artists. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to create MIA (2018), while Madonna was a part of Medellin with Maluma (2019). The year 2000 saw a number of reggaeton performers were lamenting their genre's shift towards the mainstream, but a new generation of performers, including Rauw Alejandro was determined to continue the evolution of reggaeton. The group incorporated elements from different styles and electronic music.
